GARRETT SNYDER is an award-winning writer and editor born and raised in California. Most recently he was a staff reporter at the Los Angeles Times. After earning a degree in screenwriting from Loyola Marymount, he worked his way through the world of journalism to become the food editor of LA Weekly and Los Angeles magazine, among other roles.

He’s the author of three critically-acclaimed cookbooks, including the New York Times-bestselling Pepper Thai Cookbook with Pepper Teigen (mother of Chrissy) and Cook Real Hawai’i with Top Chef fan favorite Sheldon Simeon. As a freelancer, he’s covered the best fish tacos for Food & Wine, written a bar crawl guide for GQ, and documented the history of tiki drinks and Chinese food for PUNCH. He’s also developed culinary book proposals for various clients and helped food and drink brands improve their digital content strategies.

He lives with his wife and daughter in Los Angeles and remains willing to drive long distances in pursuit of a great tacos.
